Statement
I look at Art as a form of Therapy, Healing of my mind, soul and yes also my body. My body holds thoughts and many fears, when I paint, I feel free and alive, at peace. I incorporate old things that I find around my city into my paintings., this reminds me where I have come from, my roots. I paint because I also want to forget, forget the hatred and sorrow that many of us are carrying around with us. When I paint, I ask for forgiveness and healing for all of mankind. I feel healing in my hands often and want to share this with the world.
Biography
Renee Waters was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in 1961 to a middle class family, somewhat large dysfunctional family. I always felt like I could not do anything right, I felt like the odd one out, separated from the rest, like the black sheep of the family. When I got punished, I was sent to my room or grounded for weeks, I had nothing to do but play Cinderella and clean or pretend I was a famous artist and make art, I made art as much as I could and I loved it, like a best friend. Renee has always loved art.
Renee wanted to go into art and be an artist when she graduated high school, but she did not think she could make any money doing that, Instead Renee went to Nursing School and became a Nursing Assistant and then went on and became a Medical Secretary. Renee Hated sitting and typing in a office, that job was stifling her creativity which she so needed in her chaotic life.
Renee found Natural Health and that was the path she studied for almost 40 years. Renee Studied Foot Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Iridology, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Massage Therapy and then became a Naturopath and finally a Yoga Instructor. All this primed her to think about art and therapy and hopefully, one day, she will combine these into Healing with Meditation, art and yoga workshops and retreats.
Renee is a self taught artist, she is a member of the FDL Artists Association, Thelma Visual Artists and also the Wisconsin Visual Artists Association. Renee has won awards on three of her paintings thus far and even some money to boot!

Experience
1984 – Present Naturopath, The Country Doctor Since 1984. I performed all of the following on clients. Foot Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Iridology, Massage Therapy, I work at the YMCA as a Yoga Instructor, I have been an Artist for the last two years.
1985 – Present Herbologist, Natures Sunshine Consultant. I have my own business and I perform all of the duties including book work, sales, inventory, putting on workshops, educating myself on the latest alternatives for health, follow-up with clients, research.
Education
May 1984 Medical Secretary , Moraine Park Technical college. I received a lot of A’s, I studied Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terms, typing, computer programs
Skills
I am a self taught artist I like to research new art mediums. I like to enter my art in shows. I like to take art classes. I like to perform art on a regular basis
Activities
I have many certifications in my natural health field, I have 3 awards for runner up regarding my art work, I like to give back to my community by doing face painting for different groups and events. I am a member of the Fond du Lac Artists Association, Thelma Visual Artists, Wisconsin Visual Artists.
